Many factors played into this but we promise to learn from the mistakes we made to make our future events better!

🧘🏻‍♀️Start your morning with an invigorating Pure Barre session led by expert instructors using a ball, light hand weights and a resistance double tube. 🩰🤸🏻‍♀️

🥞 After the workout, unwind and connect with like-minded women over a delicious brunch!

⏰ Class time is from 10:45-11:35 AM, but be sure to be there 15 minutes early to allow time for check-ins and getting accustomed to barre terminologies.

In collaboration with the University of Washington Women in Business, along with Women in Info, the dedicated CareerWomin team engaged in conversation about the transition into adulthood and the responsibilities that come with it.

The Summer Networking Mixer was a total hit! 🌞🍹 On July 8, from 11 AM to 1 PM, we brought together a bunch of awesome professionals—some seasoned pros and some just starting out—in a chill, friendly setting.

We had mimosas flowing, a killer charcuterie spread, and plenty of sweet treats to satisfy everyone’s cravings. 🧀🍇🍰 Plus, a free pro photographer was on hand to snap headshots, helping attendees level up their personal branding game 📸✨.

Everyone left with a cool gift bag, making the whole experience extra special 🎁. All in all, it was a super relaxed and productive meet-up, perfect for swapping ideas, making new connections, and hanging out with a welcoming community. Cheers to many more! 🥂💼

On April 28th, we hosted an awesome networking event at Capitol Hill’s @adason15th, and it was a total hit! 🎉

Attendees sipped on coffee and tea ☕️ while meeting women from a variety of professional backgrounds, creating an atmosphere buzzing with excitement and possibility. Beyond connecting with the CareerWomin team, everyone had the chance to chat with some seriously inspiring career pros—women crushing it both inside and outside their 9-to-5 roles. 👸🏽👑

All in all, the event brought together a vibrant community eager to share insights, support one another, and spark new ideas for the future!

Our Career Experts

International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on March 8th to highlight the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It is a day to recognize the struggles and challenges women have faced throughout history and to advocate for gender equality, women's rights, and empowerment. The day is marked with various events, campaigns, and activities worldwide, aimed at raising awareness about women's issues and celebrating women's achievements.

For this occasion we heard from 4 amazing women and what their roles entail

• Apoorva Halageri has an educational background in Computer Science and works as a Product Manager at Lightbox which is a commercial real estate data technology company. She was feeling excited, motivated, and receptive to listening to everyone.

• Karen Ngo is a communications manager at Microsoft. Her personal philosophy is to grow 1% every day through inspiration and share it with the world. She is feeling inspired, energized, and curious.

• Beatrice is from Venezuela and works as a Program Manager at Microsoft. In addition to this, she volunteers at Nuevo Foundation, a non-profit organization where she teaches underrepresented students how to code.

• Mariia Novikova is an engineering program manager. She switched her career path after pursuing an education in Economics from Ukraine. She was feeling excited, grateful, and busy.

With the wave of layoffs happening in the tech industry, thousands of hard workers have been affected by the sudden loss of their jobs, passion, and sense of security. We hope to take away any associated stigma by hearing directly from women who have experienced it.

Guest speakers Teresa Fox and Yimi Zhao join us for a live session to share their experiences as a part of the layoffs. They cover a range of topics including the technical process, planning next steps, and key takeaways.

💜 Our first-ever in-person networking event, hosted in collaboration with Seattle Women’s Network, was a blast! We took over Tapster—a venue known for its beer, cider, and wine on tap—and enjoyed their unique setup complete with swings and fun games.

Early-in-career women and WOC in STEM came together in a relaxed, supportive environment to connect, empower, and grow alongside one another. By the end of the event, everyone had not only expanded their professional networks but also felt more confident about carving out their own space at the table. It was an inspiring and enjoyable gathering that left us excited for what’s next!

The purpose of this event was to have a conversation about career development with the students of the Applied Analytics Club at the University of Washington. Members of CareerWomin shared their journeys, along with tips and tricks that helped them when they were students at UW not too long ago. Students also had an opportunity to get 1:1 feedback from the members on their resumes.
